Portishead's Third = Uneven, Somewhat Mediocre

you are actually deaf and entirely brainless, reviewer. and your english is awful.
Oh, really? Perhaps my M.A. in English explains that. Of course, before saying that someone has "awful" English, perhaps you'd like to take a refresher course in basic usage in order to realize the importance of capitalization.
Just to add to the post, I speak Portuguese and it's ridiculous what the guy in the sample says.

"Be aware of the rule of the three... (Perhaps some reference to the utterly original album's name?). ... what you give will come back to you. You must learn this lesson. You only get what you deserve."

I can tell you that it sounds like it was took from a preach of one of the many bleeping evangelic wackos we have here in Brazil.

I got the album from the net and thought "WHAT? Is this a fake? I can't believe this thing! Oh, wait, it could be some kind of signature of the person who leaked it." It is not. It is confirmed that the band used the same sample in a live performance. All in all, I share the same critics with you. I do also find it technically disappointing, but it is entertaining. I think it's just a matter of acquired taste.

Ouch! Excuse my double posting, friend. The need to sign up post the comment was rather misleading.
I really didn't want to post a message in here, because, as so many people, I find here plenty of stuff that annoys me and with which I deeply disagree. Anyway, I am portuguese. And in Portugal, TV has plenty of brazilian shows. So I consider my knowledge of portuguese good enough to totally disagree with Jin. The sentences are well built, from the point of view of the grammar. The sense of them is different: you obviously must use your culture to understand that. Haven't you ever heard about the rules of 3? The ones that say that you'll get 3 times what you give?
Yes, it sounds like religious or something... It's a reference to the mystical world, to which Brazil makes plenty of cult.
As a last thought, I should say that if you expect Portishead to be easily understood, directly comprehended, you are listening to the wrong band.
